Step One Dance Shoes was founded by Rose Hillbrand in 2001, in an effort to provide a wider range of ballroom and Latin dance shoes available online, for dancers who did not have access to a local dance shoe supplier. Since that time, many online dance shoe retailers have sprung up, following the resurgence of dance as a popular hobby among people of all ages.
At Step One Dance Shoes, we believe that dancers of all levels look for three main things in a pair of dance shoes:
1. A good, comfortable fit
2. An attractive look/design
3. A reasonable price
For over 6 years, we have done our best to provide a diverse range of dance shoes that offer these important characteristics to our customers.
Those who have been repeat customers for a number of years will have noticed that we change manufacturers from time to time. We have worked with large, well-known, name-brand shoe manufacturers, as well as smaller, lesser-known manufacturers whom we feel offer a superior product.

At present, we are very satisfied with all of our manufacturers, and we hope you will be too!
